How we work together

These terms apply to every website Klaarwerk Studio builds. They're written in plain English. If anything is unclear, ask us on WhatsApp before you pay.

1. Your quote

Your price is the package price on our website or the amount on your written quote. Prices are in rand and are once-off for the build. Anything not in your package is quoted upfront before we do it.

2. Paying

• We start after we receive a 50% deposit by EFT.
• The other 50% is paid when you approve the final site, before it goes live.

3. If you cancel

The deposit is non-refundable once we've started work, because we begin writing and designing straight away.

4. Timeline

We aim to have your site live 14 days after your deposit and our first call. The 14 days only count while we're not waiting on you. If we're waiting for your information, photos, logo or feedback, the clock pauses until we have them.

5. Your content

We write the words for your site from our call and you check them before launch. Please make sure the details you give us are correct, and that you have the right to use any photos, logos or other material you send us.

6. Changes

Two rounds of changes are included when you review your preview. Bigger changes, new pages or new features after that are quoted upfront, and we only do them once you agree.

7. Your domain

Your .co.za domain is registered in your name, and the first year is included in your build. We'll let you know the renewal cost before it's due.

8. Who owns the website

Once you've paid in full, your website, its content and its files are yours. Until then, they stay with Klaarwerk Studio. We'll only show your site in our portfolio if you say we may.

9. Care Plan (optional)

The Care Plan costs R450 a month and covers hosting, security updates, backups and up to 1 hour of changes each month. You can cancel any time, and it stops at the end of the month you cancel in. If you don't want the Care Plan, we hand over everything so you can host the site yourself.

10. Google and results

We set up your site and Google Business Profile so Google can find and list you. We can't promise a ranking position or a number of enquiries, because that depends on Google and your competition.

11. Things outside our control

Your site relies on services from other companies, such as hosting, domain registries, Google and WhatsApp. We're not responsible for their outages or changes. As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us for your website.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your website is the one in place when you paid your deposit. These terms are governed by South African law.

13. Referral reward

If you refer a business to us and they become a client, we pay you R500 by EFT within 7 days of their website being paid in full. The business must name you when they contact us (or you must send us their details first), and they must be new to us. The reward is per business, there's no limit on how many you refer, and you can't refer your own business. We may change or end the referral programme at any time, but we'll still pay for referrals made before the change.

14. Founding client offer

Our first 3 clients can get the Starter package for R4,500 instead of R6,500. In return, the client agrees to leave an honest Google review within 14 days of going live, give us a short written testimonial, and let us show their website (with their business name) as an example of our work. The offer covers the Starter package only, can't be combined with other discounts, and ends when the 3 spots are taken. Payment is still 50% deposit and 50% before launch.
